Reading/Writing Groups
Children rotate to three reading/writing activities each day. They follow the schedule on the activity board. The three centers include:
1. Computer Center: children work in the Waterford Reading Program at their individual levels using their Chromebooks. They also use the Razz Kids computer based reading program.
2. ABC Center: children work on letter and beginning sound activities. They will also practice reading skills and building words.
3. Guided Reading Groups: Utilizing the Fountas and Pinnell Reading program, children work with the teacher on reading skills at their individual levels. They read books together and focus on tapping out sounds in words, sight word vocabulary and comprehension.
